Skincare Routine for Busy Solo Moms in Less Than Ten Minutes
Honey, if you’re a solo mom, you already know your mornings move fast.
You’re packing lunches, locating that missing shoe, checking homework, answering emails, and trying to drink your coffee before it gets cold. Somewhere in the middle of all that chaos, self-care tends to get pushed to the bottom of the list.
But here’s the truth: taking care of your skin does not have to be complicated or time-consuming. You do not need a 15-step routine, expensive treatments, or an hour in the bathroom.
All you need is about ten minutes and a few reliable products that actually do their job.
Here’s the simple routine I swear by.
Step 1: Cleanse (2 Minutes)
First things first — you have to start with a clean canvas.
I keep it simple with Cetaphil Facial Cleanser because it’s gentle, effective, and does not leave my skin feeling dry or tight.
Just splash your face with warm water, apply a small amount of cleanser, and massage it into your skin for about 30 seconds. This helps remove oil, leftover makeup, and whatever stress the day (or night) left behind.
Rinse, pat dry, and boom — step one done.
Step 2: Tone (1 Minute)
Next up is toner, and my go-to is Witch Hazel.
Witch hazel helps tighten pores, remove any leftover residue from cleansing, and balance your skin. Plus, it’s affordable and easy to find — which busy moms appreciate.
Just pour a little onto a cotton pad and swipe it across your face. That’s it.
No complicated technique required.
Step 3: Exfoliate (3 Minutes)
Exfoliation is what keeps your skin looking fresh and youthful. And we all like youthful.
I use the Mary Kay Microdermabrasion Kit. The exfoliating step removes dead skin cells and helps your skin look smoother and brighter.
Massage a small amount onto your face using gentle circular motions. Focus on areas that tend to get rough or dull — like the nose, chin, and forehead.
Then rinse it off and follow with the pore minimizer to help refine the look of your pores.
It sounds fancy, but it takes less than three minutes.
Step 4: Moisturize (2–3 Minutes)
Now we lock in hydration.
My favorite is the Olay Regenerist Face Moisturizer because it keeps my skin feeling soft and hydrated without being heavy.
Just apply a small amount to your face and neck using upward motions. Moisturizing is key to keeping your skin healthy, smooth, and glowing — especially when stress and lack of sleep try to show up on your face.
A Little Reminder, Boo
Taking care of your skin is not about vanity. It’s about taking a few minutes to pour something back into yourself.
Solo moms spend so much time making sure everyone else is taken care of. But you deserve to feel good when you look in the mirror too.
And sometimes, all it takes is ten quiet minutes in the bathroom and a few good products.
Your glow matters too.
