How I Found a Hobby That Was Just for Me
And Why Every Single Mom Needs One
Okay, listen — nobody told me how good it feels to do something with absolutely no purpose other than it makes you smile. Like, no deadlines, no laundry waiting, no multitasking — just pure, no-pressure fun.
That’s exactly what coloring became for me. Yep, coloring. Not the kind you hand your kids at a restaurant so they’ll behave, but the grown-up kind — full of stylish people, cute objects, and random things like fancy desserts or sneakers. Don’t laugh! Lol! Those pages bring me peace!
Outside of traveling, coloring has become my favorite way to unwind. I’ll grab my colored pencils, put on some chill music, and get lost in picking the perfect shade of pink for a dress or making a milkshake look extra dreamy. It’s playful, creative, and honestly… kinda therapeutic without trying to be.
Why I’m a Coloring Convert
Here’s what I realized — not everything that brings you joy has to be deep or complicated. Sometimes it’s the simple stuff that brings you back to your happy place. Coloring gives me space to tap into my imagination again, to play with color combos, and to do something that’s just for me.
Plus, there’s a certain power in having a hobby that’s completely your own. Something that doesn’t involve a to-do list or anyone else’s approval. It’s your little reminder that life doesn’t always have to be serious.
Why Every Single Mom Needs One
Let’s be real — hobbies are underrated. They keep you grounded, give you a little spark, and remind you that joy can fit anywhere in your day if you let it. So whether it’s painting, dancing, or coloring your heart out like me, find something that makes you light up.
We deserve fun. We deserve creativity. We deserve moments that are ours.
So tell me, boo — what’s your “just for me” thing? Drop it in the comments and let’s swap ideas, because joy is way more fun when we share it. 💕

I'm still trying to find my "thing". It used to be music, but times have changed and I haven't found out how to find the perfect station on Pandora yet lol. I tried reading and kept falling asleep. And the things I do like are not for me, like laundry, learning to cook new things, or my weekly cleaning up the house.
