Whew, it’s graduation season—and listen, my heart is full. My little one is graduating pre-K in a few weeks (cue all the tears and tiny caps), and it’s got me reflecting on just how much this moment means—not just for our babies, but for us.
This post is a big ol’ shoutout to the solo moms raising graduates and the solo moms who are graduates. Whether your child is walking across a preschool mat or a college stage—or you’re the one slipping on the cap and gown—it’s time to celebrate.
To the solo moms raising little scholars:
You didn’t just show up for the class parties and the homework meltdowns. You showed up when nobody else did. You were the tutor, the lunch lady, the chauffeur, the prayer warrior—and sometimes the only person in the crowd cheering them on. And that degree? That milestone? That’s yours too, boo.
To the solo moms graduating themselves:
You are the blueprint. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s “just a piece of paper.” Nah, it’s proof that you kept showing up—for yourself. That you didn’t let sleepless nights, self-doubt, or life’s curveballs stop you from finishing what you started. You deserve every single flower.
I see you juggling school drop-offs, dinner duty, finals, AND healing. And still crossing that finish line in style. That’s not just a win—it’s a testimony.
Whether you’re celebrating a pre-K certificate or a PhD, take it in. You did that. And if no one’s thrown confetti or screamed your name from the bleachers, let me be the first:
CONGRATULATIONS, MAMA!
You’ve made it through another chapter. And your story? It’s just getting started.
Tag a solo mom or a graduate raised by one. Let’s give these queens and their babies the love they deserve.
Love, light, a cap toss,
Tiera Nicole
Yes! My oldest graduated from high school and my youngest is headed to kindergarten! Talk about a hard reset 😂
Cheers to you and your little.
