I can’t lie, I’m absolutely a summer baby! As soon as the weather starts warming up, something in me just comes to life. But I will admit that there’s something about fall that just hits different. 🍂 The beautiful landscapes, the fall fashions step out, and suddenly pumpkin spice is everywhere—whether you asked for it or not.😒 But beyond the lattes and cute boots, fall is also the perfect time for a reset.
As solo moms, we juggle a lot. Between school schedules, work, bills, and trying to carve out even five minutes for ourselves, it’s easy to lose track of our own peace and goals. But here’s the thing—just like the seasons change, so can we. Fall is your reminder that fresh starts aren’t just for January.
Here’s how you can use this season as your personal reset button.
1. Declutter Your Space, Declutter Your Mind
Listen, boo. That pile of papers from last school year on the counter? That closet full of clothes you haven’t touched since 2021? It’s not just taking up space, it’s taking up mental energy. Start small: one drawer, one corner, one closet at a time. Donate what no longer serves you. Throw away what’s broken. Create room for peace and clarity in your home, and watch how it clears space in your mind too.
2. Re-Organize Your Routines
Summer schedules are all over the place (and that’s what makes it exciting). But fall calls for structure. Revisit your daily flow—mornings, evenings, and everything in between. What’s working? What’s stressing you out? Maybe it’s as simple as setting a morning playlist that gets everybody moving or creating a nighttime wind-down ritual. Structure doesn’t have to mean rigid—it just means intentional.
3. Reset Your Personal Goals
Let’s be real: some of those New Year’s resolutions didn’t make it past February. Yup, I’m talking to you girl! Lol! Fall is a natural checkpoint. Ask yourself:
What goals still matter to me?
What can I realistically commit to this season?
What small steps will get me closer?
Whether it’s fitness, finances, or simply protecting your peace, write it down, break it into smaller steps, and hold yourself accountable. I just started my 75 Hard (Single Mom Version) Challenge and it kind of has given me a boost to end the year strong.
4. Prioritize YOU in the Schedule
Y’all know my theme. Block out time just for you—even if it’s 30 minutes with a book, journaling, or a walk by yourself. When you recharge, you show up stronger for your babies.
5. Create a Cozy Vibe
Fall is about comfort, sis. Light a candle, switch up your bedding, or add a cozy throw blanket to the couch. Little changes in your environment can signal your brain it’s time to slow down and breathe.
The Bottom Line
Your fall reset needs to be about being present and intentional. About clearing space for what truly matters and setting yourself up to thrive in this next season of life.
So grab your planner, pour yourself a cup of something warm, and lean into this new season with a fresh perspective. You deserve a reset, mama. And fall is the perfect time to do it.
