Disney On Ice Presents Mickey’s Search Party
A Magical Experience for Solo Moms & Their Little Ones
Let me tell you—if you’re looking for a fun, memory-making experience with your little one, Disney On Ice Presents Mickey’s Search Party is IT! This past Saturday, I took my little to see the show, and let me just say… Disney never disappoints. From the high-flying acrobatics to the classic characters we all love, this was truly an afternoon of magic, nostalgia, and excitement.
If you’re wondering whether this show is worth it for solo moms—spoiler alert: Yes girl, grab those tickets! But before you do, let me break it all down for you.
The Vibes: Pure Disney Magic
From the moment we walked into the arena, the energy was high and the Disney magic was in full effect. Kiddos dressed as their favorite characters, Mickey ears everywhere, and that familiar, nostalgic Disney music playing in the background. It’s impossible not to feel the excitement.
Mickey’s Search Party isn’t just a regular ice-skating show—it’s a full-on interactive experience with jaw-dropping performances, aerial stunts, and even characters coming off the ice to engage with the audience. If your little one loves Disney, they will be glued to their seat the entire time. Or jumping up and down in sheer hysteria as my mine was.
The Storyline: A Fun Adventure
So, what’s the story? Mickey and friends are on a mission to rescue Tinker Bell after Captain Hook captures her and steals her magic. And I don’t play about my girl Tink, so I was in on the excitement myself! To bring her back, they had to find “clues” hidden in different Disney worlds. This meant we got to travel through some of Disney’s most loved movies—Coco, Moana, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Frozen, and Beauty and the Beast.
Each segment was beautifully done—from Coco’s vibrant Día de los Muertos celebration to Moana’s oceanic journey, the performances were definitely next-level. And of course, Elsa had the crowd singing their hearts out with Let It Go—because what’s a Disney event without a Frozen moment?
The Highlights: What We Loved Most
High-Energy Skating & Acrobatics- This wasn’t just ice skating; there were backflips, aerial stunts, trampolines, and even stilt-walkers ON ICE CHILE! Disney really said, “We going all out!”
Audience Engagement- The characters made sure the kids felt like they were a part of the adventure. At one point, performers even came into the crowd to interact with the everyone.
Coco’s Performance- Hands down, one of the most beautiful and colorful scenes of the night. The music, the skeleton dancers, the bright visuals—it was like stepping into the Land of the Dead in the best way.
Elsa’s Ice Powers- Let’s just say, Disney found a way to bring some real magic to the ice. When Elsa used her powers, there were actual bursts of snow and icy visuals—it was pretty cool!
Short & Sweet- Now some people grumbled about the length of the show being too short. It was just under two hours with an intermission. But I thought it was perfect for little ones who may not have the longest attention span.
Tips for Solo Moms Attending Disney On Ice
If you’re planning on taking your little one, here are a few things to make your experience even smoother:
✔️ Dress warm- It’s an ice show, so the arena can get chilly. Layer up!
✔️ Budget for snacks & souvenirs- Because Disney knows how to tempt the kids with all the light-up toys and popcorn buckets. And they finna hit you in your pockets with the prices!
✔️ Get there early- The pre-show excitement is part of the fun, and you’ll want time to grab snacks and find your seats.
✔️ Sing along and have fun!- This isn’t the show to sit quietly—get into it with your kiddo and make it a magical experience! I know we sure did!
Final Verdict: Worth It?
1000% YES! If you’re a solo mom looking for a fun, easy-to-plan activity that will light up your kiddo’s world, Disney On Ice Presents Mickey’s Search Party is absolutely worth it. The combination of music, visuals, and skating talent is a whole experience, and it’s something your child will be talking about for weeks.
So if Disney On Ice is coming to a city near you, grab those tickets, boo! It’s a memory in the making.

“Disney “Mickey” never fails! So true! Glad to hear Disney is still pushing forward with beautiful magical storylines while keeping the integrity of past movie themes. Moana my favorite but Elsa holds it all majestically together! The ice shattering must have been thrilling 😮😁
Thanks for the review! I've never been and wondered how it was. I tried taking my son to the circus and he hated it. But he may like this. Let me go see if it's coming to a city near me!
