7 Fun in the Sun Mommy & Me Date Ideas
🎶Summa summa summatime!🎶
The summer is here boo thangs and the kiddos are out of school! But we not finna let them just sit in front of the tv all season long.
No ma’am!
We are going to get them out of the house and spend some quality Mommy & Me time.
So I’ve compiled a list of the top 7 fun in the sun date ideas that you could do with your littles this summer. Not only are they great bonding activities but they’re super fun for them and you as well!
1. Picnic in the Park
I will forever be a picnic lover!
Pack a basket with your kids’ favorite snacks, a blanket, and some games. Find a local park and enjoy an exciting day outdoors, soaking up the sun and spending QT together.
If your kid is anything like mine, trying to pull him/her away from playing just to take a bite for lunch is like pulling teeth. So a picnic is perfect because they can literally play-on-the-go!
I also found this super cute picnic basket on Amazon that is a solo mom’s dream! I’m all for efficiency and style! https://amzn.to/3VmUPgO
2. Beach Day
You can’t say summer time without the beach!
Head to the nearest beach or even lake for a day of fun in the sand and water.
Build sandcastles, splash in the waves, and maybe even explore the boardwalk if there’s one. A day at the beach typically is an all day event so plan accordingly with all the essential for a full day of sun exposure.
3. Nature Hike and Scavenger Hunt
Choose a kid-friendly hiking trail and make it an adventure by creating a scavenger hunt.
If you have smaller ones, be sure to bring a stroller or wagon just in case they get tired.
During your scavenger hunt, you could look for specific plants or animals and enjoy the beauty of nature together.
4. Outdoor Movie Night
Now this is something that I personally want to do that I think would be really cool once my little one gets a bit older.
Just set up a cozy outdoor movie night right in your backyard. Or if you live in an apartment, you could use your patio or balcony.
Use a projector and a blank, wall, or sheet, lay out blankets and pillows, and enjoy a family-friendly film under the stars with some popcorn and snacks.
5. Visit the Zoo or Aquarium
Animals and children go hand and hand for some reason. It’s like an unwritten rule somewhere.
So spending the day at the zoo or aquarium is GUARANTEED to be a hit, especially with the little ones.
Many places offer interactive exhibits and programs designed for kids, making it both educational and fun.
6. Mini Golf/Go Cart
Those of you with older kids, these are great activities to do with them.
It can be suitable for younger kids as well.
Gives you endless fun and also a bit of competitiveness as well. Show them that mama still got it!
7. Splash Pad or Pool
Just like the beach, you can’t utter the word summer without the mention of the pool.
Hopefully you’re lucky enough to have a pool of your own; either in your backyard or in your apartment complex.
If not, the local YMCA offers summer rates or you can try a local pool club.
If your child is anything like mine, the pool will be seen THE MOST this summer! And so it’s best to stock up on some floaties, a life vest, and pool toys now because you’re definitely going to be seeing the pool more times than you’d probably like to admit this year.
Let The Summer Fun Begin..
Well Mamas, it’s official! Summer is here!!
And now it’s time to get out there with your little one and enjoy!!!
